BHUTAN CLOUD SCULPTURE EL PASO, TEXAS

The Terex AC350/6, a 400-ton all-terrain crane is hoisting a sculpture into place at the University of Texas – El Paso [UTEP] campus.

Although it looks like a cell tower, it is actually just a sculpture to pay homage to the campuses architecture. The UTEP campus was actually designed around the Bhutan, one of the last three forbidden kingdoms hidden deep in the Himalaya. They call this campus the Bhutan on the Border. The cloud sculpture was inspired by the Kingdom of Bhutan, which is also known as the “kingdom of clouds”. The cloud is made up of many steel flaps that move with the breeze.
